Goings On

Hello all,

I know, it's been a good while since I blogged. What can I say? I have been busy!

I wanted to take just a moment and update you!

Over the last couple of weeks I have been busy filling my time with both friends and Christmas decorating.

I went to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows for the 2nd time! Yes, I know I'm a dork. That was establised a long time ago. Thanks to Philip and Nichole for going with me!

I have been shopping and gathering Christmas presents...

I have been up late watching Christmas movies...

Michael, Sharon, Amy and I braved the passes and spent last Friday in Leavenworth! So pretty! Mike and Amy even managed to get in a little sledding with the kids.



We ate lots of good German Food.

And went shopping for our annual tree ornaments at Kris Kringle's.

Next - My sis-in-law Amy and her hubby William had their annual Festivus (for the rest of us) Holiday party. This time with the extra special theme of Ugly Sweater! Charlie, our pup, filled in for us slackers.

And then, I had a special visit from my gal-pal Lindsi last Sunday where we drank wine, ate BBQ and watched New Moon and Eclipse. I have the best friends a girl could ask for!

I am sure there is a ton more, but those are the highlights! Coming up?

The Perfect Christmas Present

This post is inspired by Nikki at Que sera sera!, who like me, has an infatuation with Robert Pattinson. Most of you know this about me. It is partially because I unwittingly fell for the Twilight series and therefore for Edward Cullen. And partially because, well, I have a thing for Brits.

So anyway, I got an e-mail from Michael the other day that both surprised me and made me laugh. Michael is well aware of my Pattinson crush and in fact...seems to support it. At least with good humor, which I appreciate.

This was the e-mail he sent:

So, I figured out what to get you for Christmas...

He totally said he'd do it; I called his agent.



Yeah, he knows me well, and I appreciate that.

Maybe I act like a school girl when it comes to all things Twilight and Rob, maybe I swoon like a pre-teen at a Justin Beiber concert when Edward proposes to Bella, maybe I even made a "Team Edward" shirt to wear to the premier of New Moon...

but I have a supportive husband. One who knows I love him completely and is good natured enough to not only put up with my Robert Pattinson desktop wallpaper, but to send him to me for Christmas.


For me :  this face + a British accent + plays the piano = YAY!

And of course - my husband is a "YAY" for me also.

Twilight Saga~ Eclipse!

Three words: best movie yet! I am so pleased with the making of the third book in the saga. I was worried that it wouldn't live up to my favorite of the four, but i shouldn't have been. I had a great viewing! I went with my partner in crime, Katie and ended up in the smaller of the two theaters with almost ALL ADULTS! No screaming, no giggling...okay a tiny bit...and no talking. I was amazed. I am not sure how we lucked out but I am greatful. A room full of chatty, squeeling girls can really ruin a movie.

I really thought the movie stuck close to the book. As close as they could for a two hour movie and staying PG-13. There were of course a few scenes that were different, either tweeked to help keep the movie flowing or added for entertainment value. I expected this. BUT, I thought this was the best adapted screen-writing so far. The actors did a great job in comparison to the first two, which I attribute to them becoming more comfortable both with their characters and in the media spotlight. They seemed more natural and unrestrained. I also enjoyed the tone that was set by the new director. David Slade was able to bring the romantic entanglement that is Bella, Edward and Jacob and mix it in very well with the action of the story and the character storyline flashbacks. I would of course, have liked to see the movie 2.5 hours instead to really fill in the transitions between scenes and be able to include more "character developement" time. But, that's the way it works I guess.

I was happy to see that they developed Bella's relationship with people a little more, and to see Rosalie and Jasper's stories/pasts unfold. And lastly, i was glad that they diverted a bit from the love triangle to show what was happening with the Newborn Army in Seattle instead of sticking with the story from Bella's point of veiw (which is how the book is!). I thought this diversion from the book was a solid choice and flowed well if you read the side novel called: The short second life of Bree Tanner. This little novella, that came out before the movie, was a side story following one of the younger "newborn" vampires created by Victoria (the villain) and was featured in Eclipse.

I am very happy with the film and can't wait to see it again!!!
